Black Diablos

Once thought to be a Diablos subspecies, it is actually a female Diablos whose shell darkened for mating season. This color serves as a warning to other creatures, including male Diablos.

Subspecies Transformation: To protect the eggs in its abdomen, this fierce female is always on high alert. Its extra durable shell and behavioral differences from the regular species make some think its ecology has changed.

Cacti and Nutrition: Like the regular species, this subspecies feeds primarily on cacti. Unlike the regular species, this monster elects to eat cacti with more nutrients than water content in preparation for laying eggs.
